What would it take to get Mark Few?DeepPurple said:So if Romar gets fired, who are you going to get to replace him? That's what I thought.
Every gonzaga fan I know loves that idea. Few is a worse game manager than romar. -
And even if we don't, you blow it up and try again. That's the way real schools operate. Some of these miserable fucks would rather languish in mediocrity (debatable) than try to be great. And it really does bug the shit out of me because I realize a good percentage of people are like that. FYFMFE.He_Needs_More_Time said:
I guarantee UW will find someone who is just as good as Romar and probably will be better. It wasn't like Romar was some kickass coach when he came here. I believe he even had a career losing record before UW hired him.

Just got back from a scotch/cigar soiree @ SYC...rumor that Romar is gone at the end of the season

Kim asked that, then got pissed when someone created a thread and mentioned Leon Rice. Called it silly, that it hurts recruiting, etc. He's a moron and he doesn't get it. I wonder what Indiana's fan boards look like this year? UCLA's the past few years? How about Kentucky's the past two years? Bad basketball and poor attendance hurts recruiting, not a fucking message board. Was it the negative posters on the message boards fault that Romar didn't sign a single guy for 2012?BatshitCrazyAsshole said:So if Romar gets fired, who are you going to get to replace him? Kim's analysis is so fucking bad. It's absolutely terrible. I disagree with people that think Romar should get another year. I think the time is now to make a change, but I can understand the people who want to give him another year to see if he can pull in a great recruiting class in 2015. I don't think possible losing those guys from Rainier Beach is enough of a reason to keep Romar, but I understand it. The local talent is certainly on the upswing for the next few years.
Until this year, I was not in the fire Romar camp, but I think the time has come. I don't put too much stock in the lack of success in the tournament. A little luck in 2006, 2009, and 2011 and we could have gone pretty far. All of those losses were close. The loss to UConn was especially painful because all we had to do was beat George Mason to make the Final 4.
It's about getting there year in and year out, and consistently being a top 3-4 team in the Pac 12. You do that, and eventually you will break through in the tournament. I understand having a bad year here and there, and potentially being a bubble team, but 3 years in a row of not making it, probably looking at 4 in a row, combined with shitty recruiting, and a lack of fan interest in the program means it's time for a change.

I fully get that Romar's not getting fired this year for a number of reasons.
However, when you provide facts that show that this love affair with Romar being the greatest coach ever, the arguments against that are just so flat out terrible that it's almost impossible not to think that people aren't whoosing you (except for looking at the track record of their arguments).
It was impossible watching our terrible play in the 2nd half tonight and make any constructive argument for us being a well coached team.
