They weren't violating the Treaty when they first signed it with Reagan. They are violating it now and have been in violation for many, many years. Obama ignored it, just like he ignored Russian hacking. There isn't much point in signing off on a treaty when only one side is living up to the restrictions set-forth in the treaty. It's not about this particular treaty it's the fact all President Trump is doing is breaking deals and not making any of significance(for a person who is supposed to be a deal maker savant). Why would any country negotiate with us now knowing President Trump will opt out at any time when his panties get all wadded up.

Obviously if we're test firing experimental rockets 24 hours after withdrawing we're certainly not innocent in holding to the treaty.
