Ty recruited a stud tailback from SoCal. If Ty did it, it can't possibly be that critical to success.

El oh el. The list of shitty running backs that have run for 1000 yards is long and ya boy has done it exactly one time in 7 seasons. If you told anyone drafting a running back #2 overall that they'd rush for 1000 yards one time in 7 seasons they'd say he was a bust. And that "big part" of a Super Bowl champion was 390 yards rushing and 335 yards receiving. Big fucking deal.
Saying someone is a bust is different than being a slight disappointment. Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell, Tim Couch, David Carr, Kajana Carter (injuries), Lawrence Phillips, Vernon Gholston, Akili Smith. Those guys are busts. At worst, Bush was a great third down back and explosive punt returner for New Orleans. Maybe he should not have been the #2 pick, but he was a very useful player. The past two years for Miami have shown he can be an every down back, and Detroit thought enough of him to give him a good contract to be their main back. Part of the reason for his limited stats in New Orleans was that they had other quality backs. It's hard for me to call a good player a bust.

At least Reggie is still in the league, unlike the guy picked after him.

This thread sucks. Nip (or was it Nap) Kaufman is in the top 3 all time at UW. His time in the NFL was average. Polk is also in the top three. I expect his career to be average. So the fuck what? If Bush played for UW he would be remembered as one of the greats of a all time.

UW needs great college running backs. The point is Sark hasn't really recruited any top tier players in that position that have produced. Yeah, Cooper was a stud on paper...nice. Woulda shoulda coulda. Rick recruited some stud lineman who never contributed.

This thread should be called "Will Sark ever sign a stud Offensive Tackle from anywhere?"

RB has been one of our strongest positions since he took over
