PM to fat guys with cheap ARs

I can see why now why they are so popular- i.e., you can't miss with a scope, no recoil and cheap ammo.

They are very good tims.

Great Tims indeed. Funny enough though, I shot a .30-30 Winchester for the first Tim too, and that was actually mor fun. I watched too many westerns growing up and might have a lever gun fetish.GrundleStiltzkin said:They are very good tims.

Were you guys in Gilroy?

I drove past a sign up in Capitol Forest yesterday that said "NO SHOOTING" on it. It had at least a hundred bullet holes in it.

It was probably the gated drive.YellowSnow said: -

Classless. Garlic/other bulb-themed festivals were set back decades yesterday and you post this.RaceBannon said:Were you guys in Gilroy?

Did you know AR stands for “Assault Rifle”?

No, I did not. I thought it stood for the name of the original manufacturer of the precursor to the M-16.MikeDamone said:Did you know AR stands for “Assault Rifle”?

Actually, yes. Went to the outlet and the Festival (been there 5 times before). We saw people running as we left but had no idea what was happening until seeing Twitter in the car. Girl is pretty shook up. A fucking garlic festival ffs.RaceBannon said:Were you guys in Gilroy?

The “AR” in “AR-15” rifle stands for ArmaLite rifle, after the company that developed it in the 1950s. “AR” does NOT stand for “assault rifle” or “automatic rifle.”

If you decide to buy one make sure you know the difference between .223 and 5.56mm ammunition.
-
Both work in an AR. 223 works fine in a 5.56 but not always the other way around if you're shooting a bolt gun etc.USMChawk said:If you decide to buy one make sure you know the difference between .223 and 5.56mm ammunition.

The 5.56 round can (probably does) have higher pressure and will void the warranty on most .223 rifles. A .223 is manufactured to lower specs.Sledog said:

That's why my primary ARs are an HK and a Barrett. Manufactured to end of the world specs.USMChawk said:

Also, thinking of taking an old PS-15 S&W I have and converting it to a race gun with an Adams piston (it's already a piston gun but the Adams design is better and will interface with the new trigger group) and an Echo binary trigger. Suck it anti gun fags. 'Murica -
Normally I think the standard measurements for calibers sound so much tuffer than their Eurofeeg equivalents- .308 Winchester vs 7.62 NATO. But .223 Remington just so sounds so wimpy.Swaye said:

As cool as they ARE I don't see myself ever owning an AR. I have enough frens that have them to scratch that itch once or twice a year at a range or out in the woods. And the Remington scatter gun I own gives me enough piece of mind for Zombie Apocalypse, even though I get why folks think the AR is the ultimate Zombie Apocalypse weapon. If I do purchase is gun any time soon, it's gonna be a S&W 686 in .357 mag.USMChawk said:If you decide to buy one make sure you know the difference between .223 and 5.56mm ammunition.

I don’t own one either. It’s a hunting weapon, the ammo is expensive (compared to pistol ammo) and it’s too bulky for home defense (which is the primary excuse I give my wife for buying guns).
-
It is much harder to hide from 7.62 NATO! Most shit is just concealment. Cover from real rifle fire is much harder to find!

Zombies aren’t real. You know that right?YellowSnow said:
