Ticket sales must be way down

Here’s a thought... The 2019 football season starts in a month. Let people buy single game tickets

I know of 6 people who didn't renew. Reasons provided were start times, and unable to get a beer/drink.

They should have held on. The 9 AM kickoffs are going to be special.huskyhooligan said:I know of 6 people who didn't renew. Reasons provided were start times, and unable to get a beer/drink.

I've made this same argument. The fact they bring in flasks and run out by halftime may say more about who I associate with than anything. I'd give them shit about waiting all year for football, then leaving at halftime to catch the end of the game at a bar or at home. Now that I think about it, I know four more, so 10 total. 8 of the 10 are hella old and live at least an hour away from the stadium. Honestly if tv timeouts weren't a thing, or much shorter, the late night stuff would be more tolerable. But when you're trying to stay warm 100 feet in the air, outside, in a moist, wet, cold climate, and the dude in the red vest trots out on the field four what feels like 10 minutes, after a post touchdown time out, then kickoff, then timeout. For old people who pay a lot, that shit gets old. Nevermind their retired ass doesn't have anything to get up for the next day.HuskyJW said:

This might be the last year I get season tickets for that very reason. I won’t belabor the point as it’s been discussed ad nauseam, but not knowing start times in advance *and* having late starts pisses me off.huskyhooligan said:I know of 6 people who didn't renew. This is not to say I won’t show up for marquee matchups, but the AD/conference need to fix this.
I know Jen...WDWHA. -
I don't buy season tickets because it's ridiculous to pay face value for the three shit OOC games, and for games like OSU, AZ, Colorado, etc. Stubhub is my fren' for the 3-4 games worth going to each season.

Mo better seats for @MikeDamone.Doog_de_Jour said:

The most doogish aspect of my life is season tickets. It’s my way as a pour to give back to UDub and I don’t care how much they bend us over. Still cheaper and better than being s stupid 12. -
If it’s too expensive. Fine I get it
Family? Sure
Too much time out of the day? I get that also
But to say you aren’t attending a college football game because you can’t buy $10 beers is ridiculous and a lie.
I’ve been drinking in the stands for 20 years -

I bought season tickets. The cheapest option. Im going to mooch off alumni tailgates and get fucked up in the morning with my friends.
Basically I’m just paying to party and scream at Bush for not running the ball enough because our WRs are complete JAGS. -
My problem is an 8 year old and a 7 year old who just have to play soccer on football Saturdays.
-
Tell them sometimes you do things for yourself to become a better person and it shouldn't matter if you're there or not.1to392831weretaken said:My problem is an 8 year old and a 7 year old who just have to play soccer on football Saturdays.

I promised them we're going to a game this year. Their season doesn't start until the second week for the Huskies, so we're definitely going to Eastern. Cal is a 12:00 Shanghai time game, so I'll probably be at that. My dad is a huge USC homer, so we go every time they're in town, and we've already planned to fly him in, so that's a go. I'm sure both Oregon and Utah are going to kickoff sometime between the beginning of Saturday Night Live and last call at the bar, so I should be able to make those as well (I'm the rare fan who LOVES the late kickoffs, as it all but guarantees that I can go).Gwad said:

So I'll be at a few games. I thought about season tickets for the first time this year, but there's always just too much uncertainty with my schedule to do it. And who wants to pay full price for bullshit non-con anyway? -
Not so sure about Oregon being a late game. It’s homecoming, so it’s ripe for a prime 1pm on Fox.1to392831weretaken said:

This is why the SEC rules. West Coast people don't care enough about football. That's fine but stop fucking crying about being second class.

From my understanding, for homecoming UW gets to kickoff whenever they want. Last few years have been 12:30 (UCLA, Colorado)DoogCourics said:

This 6-day window bullshit needs to stop. Larry gave way too much power away to the networks. Is it a football game or a TV show? I went to the 8pm Arizona game on Halloween a few years ago and it was the smallest crowd I’ve ever seen at Husky Stadium. Had to be only half full, if that.
I’d definitely buy season tickets if I lived in Seattle and the late start times wouldn’t be as much of a bother. Trying to make plans to fly up can be a pain when you don’t have a gametime. (Yeah I know, #FirstWorldProblems)
So yeah, it’s all Larry’s fault. -
It’s this way with ALL networks. ESPN and ABC and all of these agreements are about the cash grab from TV money.MammaJamma said:This 6-day window bullshit needs to stop. I agree #firelarryscott but big business is really to blame. Well, that and Larry Scott sucks ballz so EVERY conference out there with a marque matchup will have it scheduled during the early and late games so pac-12 top games will be prime matchups typically.
So yes, full circle, #firelarryscott. -

Mine would rather go to football games so he plays soccer on Sundays but yesterday asked if he could play rugby so hopefully the end of flop grass on Sunday mornings may be winding down1to392831weretaken said:My problem is an 8 year old and a 7 year old who just have to play soccer on football Saturdays.

aren't all you guys who won't buy tickets the same guys who are always telling recruits they can play in front of a packed house of 72,000 at Husky Stadium instead of a shit crowd somewhere else... yet you don't buy tickets.
-
The problem isn't people buying tickets. The Huskies crushed the conference, averaging almost 70K last season. The problem is with people not using those tickets. Or leaving early. Tickets sell for above face value on the secondary market for just about any conference game, so there's definitely demand.Meek said:aren't all you guys who won't buy tickets the same guys who are always telling recruits they can play in front of a packed house of 72,000 at Husky Stadium instead of a shit crowd somewhere else... yet you don't buy tickets.
If the AD's concern is merely banking cash from ticket sales, they probably don't see a problem. If they're concerned with optics of ~15K in the seats for the second half of North Dakota Community College, then they'd better fucking do something. -
Once again this is not a Larry Scott problem. Everyone with a brain knows he is worthless. It's a problem with the Executive committee of the Pac 12 which recommends his continued employment to the rest of the Presidents. The Presidents of Oregon State, UCLA and Arizona State is where the blame lies. People need to start looking at these things as top down issues.MammaJamma said:This 6-day window bullshit needs to stop. Larry gave way too much power away to the networks.
