I guess the question is where do you cut? Safety net programs, I'll admit, didn't constitute as big a % as I thought. Military spending was a little short of what I would have guessed, but various sources pet it as over 1/2 of the discretionary spending budget.
This is why anyone from either party who argues about the opponent being an out of control spender is full of shit. @Sledog of course included. No one has the balls to address the massive entitlement elephants in the room, and they will continue to inflate both the deficit and debt until we make the painful cuts.
Hey we agree on something. Medicare and Medicaid are the real drivers of our spending and debt. Neither of these programs even existed 60 years ago.
