I think his scout profile goes something like this..."when you throw in his ability to catch everything thrown his way......"

It does. Then they all said he can't catch. I could be wrong, but do you think a guy 6'4" 225 wouldn't play of he had good hands? Something is missing.

I put no stock into what fetters and Eklund say, but there were multiple TBS experts from different networks saying his hands were suspect. He also dropped way down in the rankings which is something they are normally hesitant to do.

He'll either develop solid pass receiving skills or he won't. Either way it will be fuck off.

If Stringfellow gets salvaged then this guy isn't really needed at WR. He's as big and maybe faster than Stringfellow but you can see the sparkling polish String has as a receiver and I agree that Daniels will never reach that level if he was rough coming in. It's more than just hands. It's timing, positioning, judging balls, manipulating coverage, etc.

Can we speculate this about the mystery surrounding Daniels' suspect ball catching skills: the kid showed up at one of those no-count, prep all-star post season games and struggled to catch the damn ball because airline food disagreed with his gut, or something. And ergo, the recruiting media experts watching this one game must decide that Daniels has suddenly contracted an incurable case of concrete hands? Either that or Daniels is having girlfriend problems, or flunking freshman English 101, etc. Who the fuck cares? Run the damn ball up the gut!

Pretty sure that you can learn to catch the ball through more and more reps ... not that fucking hard.

That being said, he could very easily be the next Kam Chancellor if he played S ...

Not true. You can get better, but body control, adjusting to the ball, and all that is pretty natural.

You can tell me I'm an idiot if I'm wrong, but this guy will never be a go to WR.

I think Pete is pretty smart, and won't let a superior athlete like that waste away on the bench. He, unlike Dude Brah, knows how to maximize talent. If Daniels doesn't find the field soon, it's because he is just not a good football player - anywhere.

I don't think that we have enough information at this point to know whether he can make it as a WR ... I don't look at these 7 on 7 camps and All-Star drills as the end all be all.

You are right that body control, adjusting to the ball, etc. is a lot based on natural ability. I do think you can get better with that with reps. But you aren't going to work yourself into being Jerry Rice through reps.

I do think that he's got a greater upside on defense than offense though ... he could very easily turn himself into an All-Conference defender.
