National Debt now 25% higher since Trump took office

Ummmmmm....have you looked at revenues vs expenditures from 2008-2016? The majority of the debt was due to expenditures. Revenue fell slightly in 2008, was off 17% in 2009 and has been steadily climbing since to what will be a record 3.44 trillion this year. Up 61% in 10 years. US population is up 8% in that timeframe. Revenue isn’t, nor has it been the “large contributing factor” to the debt.2001400ex said:
Not to mention. Decreased revenues from the recession was a large contributing factor to the increase in debt and large deficit during Obama's first few years.GreenRiverGatorz said:

Yeah Obama basically doubled the debt he inherited by spending more than all previous presidents combined. So if Trump increased by 25% how much more would it take to double it from the number he inherited?GreenRiverGatorz said:

That speaks more to the shitty Obama economy than anything else. What would have happened to the budget deficit if we had just reduced spending in 2012 to what we spent in 2007?2001400ex said:

What would have happened to the budget is we didn't pass Medicare part D without funding it?SFGbob said:

What happens to expenditures when unemployment goes through the roof and resulting benefit payments are to be made? -
Wake me up when we actually have to pay interest on US Government debt. Until then, leverage the shit out of being the only reserve currency game in the world.

What happens when you suck at creating the conditions for a strong economic recovery and then on top of that you raise taxes and increase regulations and government mandates? You get the shitty Obama economy. Suck harder Hondo.2001400ex said:

I agree Medicare part D sucks but the plan the Rats wanted was even more expensive and your phony tears now over how much it costs when you're currently advocating for "free" healthcare for everyone ring a little hollow. -
Federal unemployment benefits aren’t a huge impact at all at on the debt. Most of the unemployment compensation is at the state level. At the federal level it is a nit and most years operates in the black. In the recession they certainly provided more compensation, but it would barely move the needle in the total annual deficit. The Federal government did help the states with UC in the form of loans. But you’re fantasy of unemployment driving the deficit in any meaningful way is bullshit. They spend too much in other areas...but it’s isn’t unemployment.2001400ex said:

Do you normally have emotional spasms in real life or just here? -
Sounds serious

Of course it's an argument. It's a connected set of premises that make a necessary conclusion. You claiming it's not just means you don't have enough of a mind. That is no surprise. Nobody who looks up to an idiot as president has much brainpower. He is so stupid that he doesn't know how to capitalize properly.MikeDamone said:
