Anne Lister is known as the first REAL lesbian which I did not know. 1830's. She kept a diary that is being decoded as we speak for season 2. Also has some coal conflict which every soap needs - energy sells whether it be English coal or Dallas oil
Miss Walker was a bit of a simpering weak willed lady which made some of it quite tedious but overall worth a watch
