2018 Pacific Takes Pac-12 All-Freshman team: USC leads the way with five first-team selections
https://www.pacifictakes.com/2018/12/4/18126447/2018-pacific-takes-pac-12-all-freshman-team-usc-leads-the-way-with-five-first-team-selections
First Team
Offense
QB J.T. Daniels USC - The whiz kid had a solid year. Not a great year, but he’s on track to be a future All-Pac-12 QB.
RB Jermar Jefferson Oregon State - He was arguably the conference’s best running back as just a true freshman.
RB C.J. Verdell Oregon - Emerged as Oregon’s starter and carved up Pac-12 defenses, finishing with 975 yards and 10 TDs while also receiving for 312 yards and two TDS.
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown USC - One of the conference’s best receivers as just a true freshman. He finished with 60 catches from 750 yards with three TDs.
WR Jaylen Dixon Utah - A speedy playmaker who had nearly 500 yards receiving, a touchdown and averaged 20 yards per-catch.
TE Cade Otton Washington - He might already be the conference’s best blocking tight end and also caught three touchdowns and had 158 yards receiving.
OL Abe Lucas Washington State - Started at right tackle all season and is already one of the conference’s best.
OL Jaxon Kirkland Washington - Stepped up as a redshirt freshman and started at right guard for the Huskies every game.
OL Penei Sewell Oregon - Was on track to maybe be a first or second-team All-Pac-12 selection before he got hurt.
OL William Sherman Colorado - Fresman starter made honorable mention All-Pac-12.

Moronic excuses? You're an idiot. Don't use his stats against Oregon's cupcake non-conference schedule last season to skew the data. How many yards did he average per carry against conference opponents and Michigan State? That will give an accurate and relevant assessment on the season he had. Is there a reason you don't want to do this?DJDuck said:

I haven’t been around long enough to see this. I can’t imagine his time if were to wipe the floor with Auburn.
No, SAC, this isn’t an invitation to comment on how that’s an impossibility. It’s only a hypothetical and not my prediction. -
Washington has a dearth of running backs and talent at that position. Verdell will share time with some other good running backs. I’m not happy with Arroyo’s offense but it is different than Oregon’s other offenses and Washington’sStrongArmCobra said:

You are an ignorant fuck dtd.
I have been attending Oregon games for 65 yrs. I was most likely watching Duck vs Husky games before you were born.
We have had Duck Season tickets for 30+ years. I have seen Sean Burwell play. I don’t need to look him up. He was a good back. I don’t know what you mean about Sean Burwell eating Verdell for lunch but Verdells career is all ahead of him. As good as Sean was I don’t think he rushed for 1,000 yds in a single season. I may be wrong but I think that statistic is correct. -

He wasn't a feature back because he didn't do much when he was in.
Coaches have a funny little habit with RBs. They stick with the hot hand. If he'd produced, he'd have stayed in. That boy got the hook all the tim.

I would say what you see is what you get at this point. However, maybe being the 1st back will help him develop what we haven’t seen so far. You never know but I am not expecting it. -
You're an idiot. Ahmed only got 104 touches in 14 games last season and averaged 5.8 yards per carry. He's already proven himself as an explosive play maker his first two years in Gaskin's shadow. Now it's his time to shine as the lead back. He hasn't even come close to tapping his full potential yet. He'll be a break out star in this conference and a household name by the end of the season.lawsandl said:

You continue to ignore the facts. A RB that gets an average of less than 8 carries per game can't do shit. Running backs need fucking carries to show what they can do. How is that not obvious? There isn't a RB on the planet that can do shit with only 8 carries per game. Let me know when Ahmed is getting 20+ carries a game and tell me if he still looks underwhelming to you. Literally nobody said he was going to "force Petersen's hand to play him more". You just made that up. A Senior Myles Gaskin was always going to get the bulk of the carries. He earned it. Every UW fan knew that and wanted that to happen and it did. Ahmed will be elite. His time is coming. Nothing is more quookish than the denial of elite talent just because that elite talent is on UW's roster. Quooks doubt Eason and quooks doubt Ahmed because they fear what both are capable of. Please keep doubting them. It will only make it more fun when UW's offense gets right back to blowing Oregon out starting this season.lawsandl said:

We have one of the best secondaries in the nation, if not the best. No QB is looking good against them in fucking Spring ball you moron. Eason won't face a secondary on UW's level all season unless UW makes it to the Rose Bowl or playoffs again. By then, our offense should be clicking considering the talent we have.lawsandl said:

As you can’t tell, I am a duck fan. Just so you know I haven’t read one positive comment from you about the Ducks in any shape or form. I actually give the the Huskies their due when where it is deserved. You act like a teenager or a very immature early 20 year old. I like coach Petersen and I was actually excited to watch Amhed.StrongArmCobra said:
You're an idiot. Ahmed only got 104 touches in 14 games last season and averaged 5.8 yards per carry. He's already proven himself as an explosive play maker his first two years in Gaskin's shadow. Now it's his time to shine as the lead back. He hasn't even come close to tapping his full potential yet. He'll be a break out star in this conference and a household name by the end of the season.lawsandl said:
I told Auburn fans that Amhed was a kid to look out for. I expected big things out of him last year and he disappointed.creepycoug said:
Sure.backthepack said:Dude he wasn’t a feature back. His job wasn’t to grind out yards it was to try and create a big play every single touch
"Hey Salvon. Just try and hit home runs. We don't care about first downs."

You can’t tell me that he is a little bit underwhelming as a back. You just don’t see him do the things you want from a bellcow.
Most people see this. -
I don’t think he will face a good secondary in the Mitsubishi Motors Las Vegas Bowl vs. Mountain West.
