Unfortunately, Romar will probably never have the two 3-15 Pac-12 seasons that would get him fired. He will continue to live off his 3 sweet 16s with a CBI tournament appearence every other year until he retires from UW and has exhausted any and all life from the program. Then we'll hire the coach of Loyola Marymount or Utah State as his replacement.

Not anymore, sadly. The momentum from the BRoy and IT eras has completely dissipated. Unbelievable. Hec Ed was an awesome place for a while there. All for naught now.

Whatever the attendance is or becomes regardless of win-loss record on the court should decide Romar's fate. Hec Ed or whatever the place is called these days is too small to tolerate even one unsold seat. What happened to Romar after it seemed like he was starting to build a worthwhile program? Could he have been Tyroned into comportment?

But UW could be a basketball school if it got serious about it. Good competitive collegiate BB has great entertainment value and fanatics for the game have no real alternative in Seattle. After years of mediocre BB teams and sparse attendance, BSU hired a new coach a couple seasons ago, started winning, and voila',...... Bronco fans started packing Taco Bell Arena which seats 12,000. Who would have thought that Boise could be a college basketball town or BSU a basketball school?
Just as with Husky Football's dark period, I'm sick and tired of the excuses and loser comportment that seems to go along year after fucking year with either expectations unfulfilled or no expectations at all. Stuff like UW will never be a basketball school is less than lame even when expressed in cynicism.
Our AD needs to get hot on this and perhaps he will for it's not like anything has ever really been done about it or seriously attempted before. Following the stadium renovation and recent football coaching hire, Woody could perhaps immortalize his legacy by forcing UW to become a basketball school, even against it's pansy-assed elitist will.

Michigan has 1/2 the local basketball talent that we do and they are more of a football school than we are. They seem to be handling being a joint basketball/football school just fine.

Florida was not a basketball school until they hired Donavan duke until they hired k uconn until they hire Calhoun, now obviouslly those are extreme examples but it can be done with the right people
