But UW could be a basketball school if it got serious about it. Good competitive collegiate BB has great entertainment value and fanatics for the game have no real alternative in Seattle. Unlike football, college basketball programs can be turned around in a hurry and I've always believed that UW is well situated to become the UCLA(now UA) of the north if it only would commit to it.Swaye said:This program will never amount to jack shit. After years of mediocre BB teams and sparse attendance, BSU hired a new coach a couple seasons ago, started winning, and voila',...... Bronco fans started packing Taco Bell Arena which seats 12,000. Who would have thought that Boise could be a college basketball town or BSU a basketball school?
Just as with Husky Football's dark period, I'm sick and tired of the excuses and loser comportment that seems to go along year after fucking year with either expectations unfulfilled or no expectations at all. Stuff like UW will never be a basketball school is less than lame even when expressed in cynicism.
Our AD needs to get hot on this and perhaps he will for it's not like anything has ever really been done about it or seriously attempted before. Following the stadium renovation and recent football coaching hire, Woody could perhaps immortalize his legacy by forcing UW to become a basketball school, even against it's pansy-assed elitist will.

Michigan has 1/2 the local basketball talent that we do and they are more of a football school than we are. They seem to be handling being a joint basketball/football school just fine.

Florida was not a basketball school until they hired Donavan duke until they hired k uconn until they hire Calhoun, now obviouslly those are extreme examples but it can be done with the right people
