Oregon is kicking UW’s ass...

Lol they had to pay for Kayvon. Not so much of a "Hail Mary" when you're paying the guy to sign.greenblood said:Oregon was out of it with Kayvon until his visit. DJ was a lottery ticket. He had the talent to make the gamble. Worked for Kayvon, not for DJ. But even if you get 1 in 10 of a Hail Mary, it makes the Hail Mary worth it.

The opposite actually. They have very little depth behind Lawrence and sold DJU on being the starter as a RS Freshman when Lawrence leaves for the NFL. He was always going to Clemson. Everybody expect Oregon stopped recruiting him because it was a waste of time. He went on his official visit to Oregon and wore a Clemson bracelet while his little brother wore a Clemson t-shirt. Oregon got played. They never had a chance.FirePete said:

So listening to the poddie and this fucking constant high pitch noise in my head squeaking “we have to stack talent”, “get the best fucking talent”, “you always take talent guys you fucking retard” and it’s occurring to me that whoregon can only kick the shit out of us in recruiting for so long with out kicking the shit out of us on the field.
Call me what you want, pessimistic or outs my mind but you can only have so many 4 🌟 guys at every position before you luck onto one that can actually play.
FML, if we could only recruit non-white and non-poly kids... oh wait, Bothello verballed to ND and Sanders to AL. -
That’s not how it works. All PSAs don’t have the same pecking order. Also, with Shough looking like the real deal, Oregon is in a good spot right now.StrongArmCobra said:

Oregon didn’t get played. Butterfield visited Thursday before the spring game. Oregon brought him in with nobody else. If you think UW took no for an answer, I would be disappointed.StrongArmCobra said:

That is how it works. USC got top choice with Bryce Young. DJU was always going to Clemson from the time he first visited them. UW gave Bufferfield a good look but decided to go with Ethan Garbers instead and they got him. DJU commits to Clemson. Now Oregon has to turn to Butterfield but Butterfield wants to go to Stanford. So you're looking at a situation in which USC, UW, and Stanford are ahead of Oregon in the QB recruiting pecking order. Oregon wasted their time with DJU and now if they don't get Butterfield they will be left scrambling.lawsandl said:

Garbers was never a kid Oregon wanted. Outside of DJ and Young they’re all projects. For fuck’s sake I forgot UW had a qb commit. Peterson saw a 6’2” 190 white boy and couldn’t help himself, lol. Also, Oregon continues to recruit Young and some QBs in the South.StrongArmCobra said:

Also, SAC Shough is good because he just is. He makes good decisions, is accurate and he has good arm strength. He’s an exrtroverted Herbert.

He's literally never started a college football game in his life and you have no idea if he makes good decisions under any real pressure in a live game but your reasoning is he's "good because he just is". It doesn't matter that Oregon didn't want Garbers. All that matters is UW was next in line and they chose Garbers. Had they chosen Butterfield, we wouldn't even be talking about Butterfield being an option for Oregon.lawsandl said:

As for Shough, I caught two practices and others I know invited to close door practices all are saying the same things. It’s not Mariota level talk but there’s a lot of excitement for the Shough era. He doesn’t have quite the physical attributes of Herbert (an inch shorter, 15 pounds lighter and .10 slower in the 40, etc) but I think he will compensate in leadership and mental fortitude. Herbert makes a mistake and plays constipated.
