Our founders fought over taxation and freedom. We could power L.A. generating it from their spinning copses!

26 years ago brave Federal Law Enforcement Officers in armored vehicles chose
Patriot's Day to burn 17 children and most of their parents alive in a
church near Waco, Texas.

You've probably never seen these names:

Chanel Andrade, 1
Daylan Lord Gent, 3
Paiges Gent, 2
Bobbie Lane Koresh, 2
Cyrus Howell, 8
Star Howell, 6
Serenity Sea Jones, 4
Chica Jones, 1
Little One Jones, 1
(They were twins)
Crystal Martinez, 3
Isaiah Martinez, 4
Joseph Martinez, 8
Abigail Martinez, 11
Startle Summers, 1
Hollywood Sylvia, 2
Mayanah Schneider, 2
Melisa Morrison, 8
Newborns
Summers & Little,
(Born into the flames
as their mothers died)

How did we get to our current situation.

Defending Koresh is a bad look.

Nut job. Alleged child abuser (that NEVER happens in cults living in guarded encampments).

The siege took two MONTHS to play out. Is your contention there was no probable cause to search the compound? I'm all for privacy but I tend to assume that the authorities have reason to mount up a charge on a group led by a screw ball like Koresh.

You weren't there; I wasn't there. We're betting. My bet is on Koresh and his fellow crazies killing themselves and setting the place on fire.

I am very confident though that if this happened under a R Admin's watch you'd be singing your "if you don't do anything g wrong you have nothing to hide" Cooper song and dance."

Come on Sled - do better man!!

Don't dishonor the legacy of the patriots of Lexington Green with a thread about Waco. That's just silly.

    Clinton talking points. Thanks.

I wasn't there. But if you calculate the amount of tear gas required for that structure you'll find that many times more gas was inserted than required. That doesn't just make it more effective it makes it flammable. And when tear gas burns it produces a form of cyanide gas.

There were children involved and no further threat to anyone. They could have left a guy in a lawn chair to watch the place.

Kids are of the utmost importance. HTH

I think the Weaver case is more disturbing

Every bit as if not more so. You are correct. Both disturbing.

Waco was done as a stunt to obtain greater funding from congress. One never ever notified the press of such activities let alone having them set up to film it.

Ruby Ridge was lunacy and illegal.

I am always confused as to when the Feds decide to step in and help in local or state issues. That is where they use income tax and crossing state lines?

Hell I don't know other than if the Feds are coming in I wish they would just cut to the chase and use tanks and or missiles.

The Waco operation was completely botched. But if you shoot federal agents, you're going to wind up ded.

    Every fuckin' time.

IMO, Ruby Ridge was far more outrageous.

Even if it (Waco) was over -militarized, shitty law enforcement work, suicide by cop is still suicide by cop. You surrender and fight your battles in court.

You mean the British marching to seize the colonists powder and arms stores? The you have read it. Those front stuffers don't work without powder and lead balls. Canons don't go boom either. Fortunately our forefathers had balls of steel and shot their asses so you don't speak with a Brit accent.

Yeah, a military maneuver designed to disarm the enemy is EXACTLY like gun control legislation. Hot take!

Have a little gratitude will ya. It’s because the mothership was England that we ended up the most successful country in modern history. Your beloved 2nd amendment didn’t originate from the French Bill of Rights.

I think gun control would be a giant waste of time. With that said, I don't think our government fears us because guns. It would be messier than it would without them. No doubt. But I don't think the government is on the verge of coming after us.
