Given the huge number of phony hate crimes that we know were reported after Trump's election there is no reason why this study should be believed.

Scenario A: Trump supporters are committing hate crimes and yelling “This is for Trump (or words to that effect)”, or;
Scenario B: Trump supporters are being attacked because they are Trump supporters.
Both scenarios meet the criteria of the above quote (from the article) and I’ve seen significantly more evidence of the latter. -
