Osborne and Spiker couldn't beat out Chin and a guy that guy moved to DB.

Not fair, they were redshirted. Most Freshman in this program don't get a legit chance to compete for playing time. JFC this isn't the Sark era. Guys have to learn the playbook, learn the skills the coaches are teaching them, and earn the trust of the coaches in practice. It takes time. That's like saying "True Freshman Vita Vea couldn't beat out Evan Hudson and redshirted, he must suck." Stop fucking doing this stupid shit. True freshman who are better players than veteran guys ahead of them redshirt every fucking year in this program for the betterment of the team long term.

I'm hearing we have a new WR coach this season that relates better to fast twitch athletes.
Spiker and Osbourne aren't fast twitch
    Are they at least medium-fast?

They had 4 free games to play and get experience while keeping their redshirt. It's a failure to not find a way for them to get snaps considering how talented they are.
Like all the freshman who redshirt, Osborne and Spiker were running scout team in practice you moron. Scout team does not get you prepared to play games. You're out there running the opposing teams plays to prepare the defense for the game. Like I fucking said, once it's decided a guy is gonna redshirt, he's not able to compete for meaningful playing time or a starting job unless his redshirt is burned. Being able to play in four games doesn't mean shit. That just means guys who redshirt have a chance to play some garbage time minutes or special teams in four games. Unfortunately, the offense sucked and almost every game was way closer than it should have been so there was zero garbage time minutes available for guys like Osborne and Spiker to get some playing time at the end of the season.

I'm sure the plan was to use them in garbage time last year, but we struggled in pretty much every game and never really blew anyone out.

From October through the end of the year, the only game with garbage time was Oregon State. I guess they thought it made more sense to leave the first team out there and try to fix what was wrong than put in true freshman to get a 4-5 snaps.

If I was being paid damn near a half million dollars I'd find a way to design a few plays including some basic concepts like a post route that my nephew can figure out when I draw it on my hand.

And yet redshirts at other positions saw the field.

    You're terrible at this.
In fucking garbage time and on special teams you fucking retard! The only true Freshman who even got a couple garbage time minutes against North Dakota were Tuli Letuligasnoa and Zion Tupuola-Fetui. And were talking like less than 10 snaps. What fucking true Freshman that redshirted got any real playing time? There were none you moron. You're terrible at this.

Yeah, meaningless fucking snaps that don't matter retard. We had guys coming off redshirts at WR we were trying to get reps to in Bynum and Cook. There were no game reps available for Spiker and Osborne. I'm right. Fucking get over. Guys who are redshirting are not allowed to compete for real playing time. Saying "Spiker and Osborne couldn't even beat out Jordan Chin" is completely off base and retarded. THEY WERE FUCKING REDSHIRTING.

Aren’t you the guy who said Huard would have to wait his turn behind Morris because Morris would be more experienced in the system after having experience during garbage time of blowouts?

“2019: Eason RS Junior (Early entry NFL)
    2020: Sirmon RS Sophomore
2021: Sirmon RS Junior (Early entry NFL)
    2022: Morris RS Junior
    2023: Morris RS Senior
    2024: Huard RS Junior”

“With all the blow out games UW is going to have, Morris will have a lot of back up game reps under his belt as well as way more practice reps than Huard.”

Were those going to be meaningful or meaningless snaps that he was getting in the blowout games that leads him to being the experienced guy who starts over Huard?

Waiting with bated breath for your reply where you’ll call me a fucking retard.

In before the "garbage time is different for QBs than WRs" comment...

I thought it looked pretty fucking good when we had John Ross and Jeff Tedford, before Jake hurt his shoulder and Tedford left for a new job (the week before the USC game).

    Against the usual shitty competition

USC was our only game that year

Without Ross it would have been just as bad as the other 4 years

Yeah you are a fucking retard.

    1. There were next to zero garbage time snaps available for Osborne and Spiker to get because almost every fucking game was competitive and as I already fucking stated, we had Bynum and Cook who had never played in college games before to get reps to. Both played against North Dakota and Bynum got a couple reps here and there during conference play.

    2. Even if they had gotten a few garbage time snaps here and there in four games, those snaps are in no way significant enough for them to beat out guys who have been getting serious playing time for years.

    3. In regards to Morris, in that scenario he would be getting live games reps for two years, as a RS Freshman and as a RS Sophomore. During those season, the team is likely to blow out way more opponents than they did this past season with Browning at QB. More blowouts equals significant more opportunities to play backups. Also, in that scenario, we're talking about Morris as a primary back up to the starter who is running with the #2 offense in practice for two years. Not a QB running the scout team like Osborne and Spiker. It's a complete apples to oranges comparison.

    4. Guys who REDSHIRT are NOT in a position to compete for significant playing time. If you don't know that, you don't know shit about college football or football in general. Scout team guys do not get promoted to starters or even the two deep mid season. It doesn't happen.

Ask anyone who's played, stepping on the field matters. Even traveling/suiting up for a big game matters. Letting guys feel the atmosphere and move around live quickens the curve.

You're stuck in the old school. The coaches left free developmental snaps on the field for the guys REDSHIRTING.
This is completely fucking irrelevant you idiot. My original argument was in response to you saying this: "Osborne and Spiker couldn't beat out Chin and a guy that got moved to DB." That is completely false. Guys who are redhsirting are not allowed to compete for real playing time because they are on scout team and not preparing for the games. Guys like Chin and any other WR who were not redshirting were automatically ahead of Osborne and Spiker by default. That's my fucking point.

Now you want to change the fucking subject and say a guy who's redshirting getting in a couple plays here and there is a big deal from a confidence standpoint. No argument here. But that's fucking irrelevant from the stand point of competing for real playing time or moving up the depth chart. When you're redshirting, you are stuck at the bottom of the depth chart with all the other guys who are redshirting. That's how it fucking works.

Baccellia actually got better as the year went on. Hopefully he can juke and break tackles, not just run fast in a straight line. Fuller is good, Jones has potential. If Chin can be a really poor man's Ross and Spiker and Osborne contribute, this could actually be a position of strength. Especially with Bryant and Otton being studs

This. Baccellia is by no means a lost cause. Great speed and has produced. Look at his numbers in the Apple Cup and in the Rose Bowl.

Would love to see what he can do with a QB that can throw with velocity and it the long ball in stride.
