Since then, ICE had issued four separate detainers for him related to various arrests including suspicion of driving under the influence, battery on a peace officer and unknown probation violations.
At the state level they already are refusing to turn these criminals over to ICE and at the Federal level they are trying to limit the number of detainees ICE can hold so that ICE doesn't deport people with DUIs.

You bring up a point that is frankly stunning. How in the hell did we get to the point that some state and local governments openly violate federal immigration laws and law enforcement?
