Andrew Yang Dems only shot

Trump could admit to collusion and smoke any of that crew.
Yang would wipe the floor with Don in debates. Not that it would really matter but Yang is clearly a smart guy.
A $1,000 bucks for everyone and remove the burden of medical insurance from small to medium size business.
If you are a receiptant of the 500 billion already spent on welfare and let's say you receive 500 a month you would true to a $1,000.
Ubi is the hook but at least this guy admits the issue is automation and not immigrants replacing jobs. He wants a secure border especially with idea of giving everyone a $1,000 bucks. He is very serious about securing the nation's borders most vulnerable stretches.

Royalties from Venezuelan oil fields....d'uh. How do you think North Dakota pays for their sweet hockey arena at UND and pro football players at NDSU? Just exponential that a bit.

Great...lets push the guy to the Left of Pocahontas but to the right of Sanders. That will work...
The guy is a moron...according to him (https://www.yang2020.com/meet-andrew/), automation has eliminated 3MM jobs (yet the unemployment rate is at historic lows) so the answer is give everyone free money. Its an unaffordable solution in search of a might-maybe problem decades upon decades out from now, but ok! And his solution to pay for this $2-$3 trillion a year in additional spending is to try and tax companies that automate...I'm sure that won't drive them out of the country which will really help the tax base...
God what a group of fucktards the left has to choose from when somebody thinks this guy makes the most sense. Howard Shultz may be the only sane Democrat left (a sad commentary on all), and look where that is getting him and the party...

I don't think he is a moron. He is quite successful if means making a shit load of money. They are holes in UBI and certainly no silver bullet solution. UBI is to get his hat in the ring. He is more appealing than other candidates in the dem lineup.
He certainly doesn't come off like a politician douche bag. -

He's a pretty big moron if he believes anything he is actually saying...and apparently has trouble with math if he doesn't see how his UBI matches up with revenue generation. Best part about it is that he's also pushing it via a VAT, which is basically the most regressive way possible to raise revenues.DerekJohnson said:

Goes with another favorite saying I have...just because somebody says something with a British accent it doesn't mean what they are saying is correct. Its amazing how people get influenced by how something is said over what is actually said.
This guy is extremely passionate and pretty eloquent, but he's a fucking moron when it comes to economics...he's crazy passionate about UBI to the point its a religion to him. He's convinced its the future, and every piece of data he sees validates it and any contrary data he sees he discounts, and what doesn't add up he make shit up to fill in (UBI will decrease prison population saving hundreds of billions, it won't impact people's desire to work, etc).
But its free shite so he'll fit in nicely in the primaries, and least until the Left realizes his program actually screws the poor more than any policy the left think Trump could ever propose in their nightmares would (his UBI factors in current benefits, so poor won't actually get much if any money, just everyone else will, and then those poor will suddenly be paying 10% higher on everything they spend money on via the VAT tax).
Don't think he'll make it far enough in the primaries for that to come out though, and if it does it will just evolve out to a bigger handout program...

I listened to him on the JRE. He lost me early when he did the politician thing and said "you know, I met with a trucker named Terrance in Davenport, Iowa, and he said..." He did it a few more times. As a rule, I'm skeptical of all these town hall anecdotes.DerekJohnson said:

Joe also never challenged him on how the economy would adjust upward for everyone's new $12,000 salary.

Listened to most of it as well...it’s a religion to the guy. Liked how contrary to all known information on the subject he went on a long monologue of how UBI will help low birth rates before Joe called him out on it.ramenduck said:

While I don't subscribe to UBI being a panacea I think it is far more efficient and carries a lot less negatives than the current Welfare State and Bureaucracy we have in place. I think it's also probably better for the people receiving UBI than the current entrenched system. We are already spending the money. It might as well go into the pockets of the people we are spending it on.HoustonHusky said:

I'm glad it's at least made it this far into the realm of political discussion. Hopefully, the idea continues to become more investigated. -
