Obviously, the weirdest thing about this trust heuristic is that it assumes the more credible party to this dispute is serial lawbreaker and pathological liar Donald Trump rather than the lifelong Republican he appointed to lead the agency. But the deeper and more twisted belief system being expressed by Trump’s allies is the premise that the FBI has engaged in a pattern of political bias against their party since the Clinton saga.
The truth is just the opposite: The FBI has often bent over backward to placate Republicans only to be met with distrust when its results fail to conform to their most paranoid fantasies.
Begin with DeSantis’s claim that the FBI never seized Hillary Clinton’s server: In fact, the FBI took it in August 2015. “The seizure of the server, along with electronic copies of its contents maintained by her private lawyer, is in connection with a criminal investigation into the mishandling of classified information,” gloated a National Review editorial at the time. “It is being dressed up by a reeling Clinton campaign as Hillary’s ‘voluntary’ surrender of the server in connection with a ‘security inquiry.’”

And who can forget when they "bent over backwards" as they sat on the Hunter Biden laptop and said nothing when you and others lied and claimed it was all Russian disinformation.
And don't forget the Whitmer entrapment case that they tried to spring right before the 2020 election on behalf of the Rat party narrative that white supremacy is the greatest threat we face, a lie not only promoted by the Rats and the DOJ but also the FBI.
And of course their treatment of Gen. Flynn and the number of FBI agents involved in the Jan 6th riots, and the pipe bomber, and Ray Epps. All great examples of the FBI placating Republicans.
Btw, do you have a source for your claim about DeSantis saying the FBI never seized Hillary's server? You being both a moron and a pathological liar I suspect that DeSantis said that they never seized the DNC's server that was supposedly hacked by the Russians and you're now either lying about what he said or you're a fucking moron who misunderstood what he said.
Imagine having the head of the FBI leaking information to the NYTimes in order get a special prosecutor to go after Trump on a completely bogus Russia collusion charge, and then finding out that numerous FBI agents lied, to further that investigation, and then claiming the Republicans don't trust the FBI because of their "paranoid fantasies."
Jonathan Chait, the author of his POS article has claimed for year that Trump has been an asset of Russia since 1987. The latest in Feb. 2021. He also claimed in 2012 that Bush stole the 2000 from Gore. He's one of the worst of the worst out there. At total TDS loon. Maybe worse than Dazzler.
