Diesel Gordon, a defensive back prospect from Arlington (Texas) Seguin, announced a commitment to Washington on Wednesday. Gordon, who received a scholarship offer from UW on May 25, is listed as a cornerback on his recruiting profile but said coaches have spoken to him about playing corner, free safety or nickel. He visited campus over the weekend.

Gordon is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and reports offers from Utah, Arizona State, Colorado State and a few others. Listed at 6-foot and 170 pounds on his Hudl page, Gordon is the sixth player and first defensive back to commit in Washington’s 2023 class, joining Bakersfield (Calif.) High running back Tybo Rogers; Adelanto (Calif.) High receiver Keith Reynolds; Pittsburg (Calif.) High receiver Rashid Williams; Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco linebacker Deven Bryant; and Puyallup (Wash.) Emerald Ridge edge rusher Jacob Lane, who announced his commitment earlier this week.
