Penn State lands 2023 commitment from 4-star WR Ejani Shakir

Penn State football secured a verbal commitment from 2023 wide receiver Ejani Shakir on Wednesday night. Shakir, a three-star prospect per the 247Sports composite and a 4-star in the site’s overall rankings, plays at New Jersey’s Winslow Township High School.
With Shakir in the fold, Penn State’s 2023 class is up to 12 verbal commitments, and the 6-foot, 175-pound prospect is the first receiver in the class. Penn State’s class has soared into the No. 3 spot nationally and has surpassed Ohio State. The Buckeyes have 10 total pledges, eight of which are from 4-star prospects per the 247Sports Composite.
