Washington flips Traore from his alma mater
Four-star defensive lineman Boubacar Traore announced his commitment to Notre Dame on Wednesday after a two-day visit to South Bend. The former Boston College commit is the No. 153 overall prospect in the Class of 2023, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Traore is the 11th commit in Notre Dame's Class of 2023 and new defensive line coach Al Washington’s first commitment of the group. Washington flipped Traore from his alma mater, taking the strongest position in Notre Dame’s next recruiting class and elevating it.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, the Irish now have three commitments among the top 40 defensive linemen nationally in Keon Keeley (No. 2), Brenan Vernon (No. 18) and Traore (No. 34). The Irish are also in a strong position for Jason Moore (No. 10) and Devan Houstan (No. 44), although signing five defensive linemen this cycle, all rated among the top 200 players nationally, would be a challenge.
