Wasn't that the KUBE?
I’m not listening until they bring back Mitch in the Morning. Hookers and all.
Wasn't that the KUBE? Yes.
It sounds like Sports Radio KJR 950 AM is going to sell the couch in a few months. In related news there is a new FM radio station in Seattle. Sports Radio KJR 93.3 FM.

Thanks for all you dooooo* I like to call broadcast studio headphones "cans." I like to call them that.
Sports radio is fucked with covid and work from home. 1080 the FAN in Portland is clearly dying as well. Dusty from Southern Oregon and some quooks are desperately filling in some holes before they're finally laid off and only Isaac and Suke remains. It's all done. Podcast is a much better format and more convenient for the new working structure of America.

I listened to it through my mid to late teens, so up until 1990.Quick story... Don James was being interviewed in 1985 the week of the Houston game. The year before, UW beat Houston 35-7. My late sister, who was 11 at the time, liked calling in to sports programs and asking questions. When she didn't know what to ask, she would ask me to give her a question. So I said, "Last year the Houston Veer offense gave us a little bit of trouble in the first half. As if he's concerned about the Houston Veer."So Wayne Cody says, "Jenny from Bellevue, you're on with Coach James."My sister goes, "Yes, last year you really struggled against Houston. Do you think you'll struggle again?"Coach James goes, "Well Jenny we beat Houston by four touchdowns, so that was plenty good enough for me. Our fans certainly have high expectations." Also, there was one time, Wayne Cody was interviewing a bowler. They took four calls -- three of them coming from "Jenny from Bellevue".

I haven’t been on KJR since Groz and Gas relayed my anti-Ty facts (60% from me, 40% stolen from @DeLarry R.I.P.).

LOL There's nothing to talk about down there.Anyways, if sports radio was dying there wouldn't be two stations in Seattle. They may need to consolidate at some point, but there clearly is an audience in Seattle. The podcast stuff is a huge boon, too.Pat McAfee just signed a monster deal for his national show that streams on YouTube. KJR somehow put together the resources to bring back UW football, add Kraken games, and expand to FM to broaden their reach. I think they also have Sounders games, which is probably a net drag for them, to be honest. 710 has ESPN branding and hosts the Mariners and Seahawks. Seems like the industry has a few things figured out.
Shocking that things like Jerry & Elise, Chuck and Buck, or Puckett and Cliff Avril didn't work out. Sports radio in general is mostly shit though except for a few of the bigger names. Local sports radio just talks about the same shit over and over again.
