Worst California Rock Band of All Time?

Bad Radio - I blame California for Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam.

Pretty sure the same shit would have happened in Shelton. The Beach Boys didn't get played at our parties, either.YellowSnow said:
Depends. I'd just call in the wrassling squad from Shelton @dflea for back up.RaceBannon said:
The tuffs in Olympia would have beat you upYellowSnow said:
The Beach Boys hate is because the went from being cool (they were cool when Good Vibrations was released @RaceBannon regardless of what the Tuffs in Olympia had to say) to cheese dick nostalgia faster than any band in history.hardhat said:I don't get the Beach Boys hate. But I wonder if 'We Built This City' is played during interrogation sessions in secret locations.
Beach Boys in 1995 was a my first ever concert. And they were cheesy as fuck.
Starship is the worst band from anywhere. -

Are you kidding me? I lived in an apartment building across the street from Civic Field from 2000-2007. I remember one Taste of Edmonds where Starship and Bowie songs were being played and I thought it was a cover band.booker14 said:I saw Starship at the Taste of Edmonds in the early 2000's. About 25-30 people bothered to sit down and watch/listen. Couldn't decide if it was sad or pathetic that these guys were still trying to hang on and had to play events like this.

I survived growing up in Shelton because I learned how to not get beat up by drawing attention to yourself.YellowSnow said:

Don't worry though - I'd still have your back - by telling you to put that shit away if you pulled out any Beach Boys albums or tapes. Shelton is the kind of town where you say Metallica is the best California band. Pull out Ride the Lightning at a party and you're in. -
Beach BoysI'm sure I grew up a little earlier than @dflea but you had to know how to fight
Daily at home and my first school fight was in first grade
No weapons and teachers kind of let it go. No cops no real punishment -

At the now-defunct Spiritridge Elementary, there was a small muddy field behind a group of trees at the edge of the playground. During recess we'd go back there and play tackle football. We'd return to class all muddy and occasionally bleeding. I don't remember teachers ever saying anything. Mrs Mason the playground supervisor always let it go.RaceBannon said:I'm sure I grew up a little earlier than @dflea but you had to know how to fight

I was lucky enough to have an older brother that thumped my melon on the regular at home, so I was ready to scrap at school at a moment's notice.RaceBannon said:I'm sure I grew up a little earlier than @dflea but you had to know how to fight

Our playground duty teacher was this 500 pound beast, so you could get a fight going out in the field, and by the time she waddled over there, the fight was wrapped up and a fake arm wrestling match was going on.
Then we'd get a game of smear the queer going and everyone would get the crap knocked out of them.
Ah, those were the days, weren't they?
