I hear Americans are flush with $$$$ and can’t wait to spend it. Meanwhile the Salvation Army is reporting toy and kettle donations are way down. They’re blaming covid and uncertainty among Americans.

So it’s not because the SA wanted whites to sincerely apologize for their Racism this Holiday Season. Naw, it’s COVID fatigue!

I usually chuck in some spare change or a few bucks, but no more. I feel sorry for the bell ringers. It's not there fault, but when your senior leadership loses its way and decides calling whites racists is their mission rather than the word of Christ and the Christmas miracle.

My wife gave the other day. But she’s not their target audience either.

You would think that someone on the Board would have said WTF? To be that tone deaf and have such a huge level of disrespect for both yourself, your religious institution and your target audience is really breath taking. Is the Salvation Army calling up the Pope for advice?

COVID gave everyone and everything that fails the ultimate excuse.

Saw this on their site. Clearly some damage control.

I donate mostly in memory of an aunt who passed and worked as a bell ringer. She had little skills and it was often her opportunity to make a wage to put something under the tree for my cousins.

Lastly, with most religious organizations, I tend to follow the "they do more good than bad" logic and support their endeavors.

    Great post.

Fuck it. People are getting $500 a month per kid. They can go buy their own food and shit. Why would they want money from my evil white male racist ass?

You've convinced me to support the people they impact rather than punish them for the misguided morons at the top.
