Michigan said the same thing about UW in 2016

I’m not gonna run down the 2016 team, but the way the Michigan got here and the way UW got there in 2016 feels different. Reasonable people may disagree. Their victories over OSU and then Iowa feel materially better than ours over WSU and Colorado. We were the plucky underdogs versus Alabama, Michigan will go into their semifinal as an equal.LawDawg1 said:Michigan said the same thing about UW in 2016

People forget that the Stanford game was pretty big that year. People forget that. People also forget finally getting the Oregon monkey off the back (even if it was short lived).

Get this cool runnings shit outta here.Alpo said:

Disagree, there were a ton of parallels. Finally beating their rival, winning the conference for the first time in 15ish years, making the playoffs. I was having serious nostalgia watching that game tonight.Alpo said:

The game ended right there in some alternate universe. Hang the banner already.RaceBannon said: -
So, the P12 was TUFF that one year? Not to interrupt your fine dooging, but just a heads up that that has not been the narrative around here.LawDawg1 said:People forget that the Stanford game was pretty big that year. Utah on the road was a tough out, people forget that two

I wonder how many times Alabama fans have taken pictures of the scoreboard after taking a 7-0 lead.RaceBannon said: -

It's been awhile, but in a single bowl season, 1985, UW beat Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, USC beat Ohio State in the Rose Bowl and UCLA beat Miami in the Fiesta Bowl. That's pretty damned solid.LawDawg1 said:When was the PAC ever good? HTH

One could argue 2000. One could do that. Norte Dame still feeling the BeavsSoutherndawg said:

2000 was solid but not quite 1985. In 1985 the PAC was today's SEC.LawDawg1 said:

I think solid is a bit of an understatement. The only thing that drags it down a bit is that the Big 10 was so shitty, resulting in UW vs Purdue in the bowl game. Oregon and OSU both got way better bowl opponents, and handled them rather easily. Add the win over Miami and that's already a good resume for the conference that year.Southerndawg said:

People forget we lost to USC at home and breathed a sigh of relief when they didn't make the P12CG.LawDawg1 said:People forget that the Stanford game was pretty big that year. People forget that. People also forget finally getting the Oregon monkey off the back (even if it was short lived).
