Had a text exchange today with Nash Fouch

Nash is the third-year sophomore starting strong safety for Montana. I know him from his Woodinville days.

I congratulated him and then alluded to film study, asking if the Montana defense was surprised by any aspect of the UW offense. He said they weren't surprised that they could could hang with the UW offense. He said they prepared really hard and came into the game feeling confident.

Just a FYI

Good for them. They had nothing to lose and played like men.

Film study of a vanilla offense that only had four games of tape from a covid shortened season. If that was enough for Jon Don to get diagnosed, then we have quite the fucking problem. But we already knew that.

Lake isn't going to get anyone real to actually replace Donny... His best bet is to hire some autistic kid that plays competitive madden to call plays, cant really be any worse.

OK he's not quite a teenager but football is littered with guys like this now. Why over spend on some relic?

One of the brightest offensive minds in college football, Jeff Lebby enters his second season as Ole Miss’ offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Lebby made an immediate impact in his first season on the Ole Miss sideline. Averaging 555.5 yards per game, the Rebels led the SEC and ranked third nationally in total offense. Ole Miss also broke the SEC record for total offense in conference games (562.4 ypg). It was the second consecutive year that Lebby guided one of the nation’s top three offenses after UCF ranked second in 2019.

Lebby’s Ole Miss offense found success on the ground and through the air. The rushing attack topped the SEC (210.6 ypg), while the Rebels threw for 344.9 ypg to rank seventh nationally. As quarterbacks coach, Lebby helped Matt Corral become the nation’s leader in total offense as the sophomore QB accounted for 384.3 ypg. Corral also cracked the country’s top 10 in passing yards, passing touchdowns and passing efficiency. To cap off his first season at Ole Miss, Lebby was named a semifinalist for the Broyles Award (nation’s best assistant coach).

Prior to arriving in Oxford, Lebby spent two seasons at UCF. He joined the Knights in December 2017 as quarterbacks coach before being promoted to offensive coordinator prior to the start of the 2019 season.

Under Lebby’s direction in 2019, UCF ranked second nationally in total offense (540.5), the most in program history. The Knights also ranked fifth in scoring (43.4), racking up 40 or more points in eight contests.

Only two teams in the country averaged more than 300 yards passing and 200 yards rushing per game in 2019; Lebby’s UCF offense and No. 4 Oklahoma.

Odds that UW brass ever hire someone from the SEC footprint are slim to none. Also, I bet this guy would take the job at Kentucky or Vanderbilt over UW.

Was super excited to see Montana's safeties who were lights out all day were from the state of Washington while Washington's MIA safeties all day were not.
