The Offense

I'm not some football mastermind but it seems pretty obvious that the problem with the offense was that we had no answer for countering an aggressive, attacking defense.

We ran zero screens, no draws and had no quick passing game to speak of. We didn't even attempt to attack the edge of their defense at all even though we were getting stuffed between the tackles all night. No outside run plays or RPOs that I can recall. We just let them play aggressive and attack us all night and were incapable of making adjustments.

In the pass game, Cade Otton didn't get a single target until deep into the second quarter and then we used him pretty sparingly for the rest of the game. He's our best offensive weapon and a fucking All American... he ended the game with 8 catches.

And for fucks sake why do we try to make Dylan Morris a pocket passer? He's clearly most comfortable throwing from over the tackles, at the edge of the pocket, or when he rolls out and is throwing on the run. Donovan is trying to fit a square peg in a round hole by having Morris sit in the pocket.
