I’ve never said he’s a good OL coach. No OL we have had has been very impressive. They looked pretty good last year and all returned so I was optimistic. It’s nice to see the regression.

The assistants and their units are only symptoms. There was zero spark in any facet. That team looked like they must have sleep walked through fall camp. Nobody looked prepared.. Nobody looked fast. Nobody looked fired up. Nobody looked good. Whole units didn't even look competent at times.
Against Montana.
That was the worst UW team I've seen take the field since 2008. Pointing the finger at assistant coaches seems like a waste and really not fair. It's systemic and yet another illustration of how it starts and ends with the head man. -

With our supposed talent we should have been able to run one play at the heart of the defence over and over and over ... and grind out a 21-3 win.
But we didn't.
So what does that say? -
I agree, we should have been able to just grind them down. Just smash and smash and smash. Even rotating in the 2nd team OL for a few series. A steady pounding of Newton, Davis, McGrew, Pleasent and even Sunday, their DL would have been worn out and the holes would have been there. Instead they throw the ball 47 times with a qb who couldn't throw an on-target pass if his life depended on it. Piss pooranimate said:This is against Montana.
