Used to go there on my birthday in early 1970s. It was the only pizza place around and my birthday was the only time I got to go. When I was 8 or so they took my back in the kitchen and let me help make my pizza. Imagine that happening today. Karen would call the health department in 8 seconds and have them fined.

Shakey's was great. Olympia had one on the west side, and the older one downtown. Those fried potatoes were so fucking good.

It was the place to go for birthday parties when I was a kid. Always had Woody Woodpecker cartoons on the big screen.

    Where was the downtown one?

Olympia got one of the early ones. Was a big deal to go there with the family as a kid.

    Nothing has changed

Shakeys in the South Sound went the way of our Dawgs. Now we are left with Little Caesar's and Round Table. Shit product that's too expensive.
The South Sound still has Dirty Daves and Brewery City. I like Old School the best though. Stone Creek is popular, but I thought it was just ok. Wagner’s Pizza Annex was great too, but they lost their star employee and then COVID hit.
