Former Husky TE suspected of murder
The former NFL player whose girlfriend vanished under mysterious circumstances from a house party in Texas has been named as a suspect in her murder, prosecutors said.
Kevin Ware, 40, a former tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, was identified as a suspect for the first time during a bond hearing Wednesday in Montgomery County on charges unrelated to the disappearance of his girlfriend, Taylor Pomaski, 29, news station KPRC reported.

On April 19, 2021, Ware was stopped by Montgomery County Precinct 5 deputies in Magnolia, Texas for speeding 115 mph in a 70 mph zone. Officers searched Ware's vehicle and found multiple illegal substances including 14.26 grams of cocaine, 1.66 grams of methamphetamine, 60.3 grams of marijuana, and a Xanax pill. Officers also found two loaded firearms in the vehicle: a loaded AK-47 and a loaded 9mm pistol. Ware was arrested and charged with two counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, a first-degree felony, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm as a Felon

Patterson pleads guilty to misdemeanor assault, gets probation
CLEVELAND - Ruben Patterson of the Seattle SuperSonics pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge Monday and was placed on probation.
Patterson, who had been charged with felonious assault, was accused of hitting a man and breaking his jaw last summer. Patterson thought the man had scratched his car outside of a nightclub.
Patterson, 25, of Cleveland, was sentenced to six months in jail, but Judge David Matia suspended the term and placed him on probation for six months. Patterson also was fined $1,000 and ordered to provide 80 hours of community service to a city basketball program.
