    Do banks really get rich off of the checking account fees? Seems way more likely they get rich by offering loans that they don’t hold on their own books and credit card processing and interest. I think it’s a made up narrative. Too lazy to confirm.

    Overdraft fees are hefty which is a good reason to avoid them. It is hard to believe that you could make a fortune or "line your pockets" off them unless there are a lot of fuck ups out there

    My offer to Chase for my accounts is this - nothing. I pay no fees

    In college I did some banking. You would have drunk people come in and there account be -2K from a bad check they wrote at a casino but would blame “bank fees” and demand the money reimbursed.
