First job out of college was selling wine for E&J Gallo to chain stores in the late 1990s and my territory was downtown Portland.
That Safeway on 10th and Jefferson was known as Scary Safeway even way back then and I saw some crazy stuff in it, including a normal-looking man just pull down his pants and take a shit in the produce section, then just pull them up and keep shopping in the store.
I can’t even imagine what it must be like 27 years later. I’m surprised it’s still open.
