Jordan Peterson: What is the message that conservatives have to sell to young people?
"Responsibility. Here you are, suffering away. What gives life meaning? Responsibility.
For the first time in my life, conservatives have something to offer young people.
Pick something up and carry it. Find the heaviest thing you can find. For men there is nothing but responsibility. Young men are so hungry for this message that it's unbelievable.
Men have to figure out what they have to do. If men don't figure out a purpose, then they stay Peter Pan. And why the hell not?
A man has to decide that he is going to do something."

And I generally get what he's saying. But I'll tell ya: as a guy who's carried a heavy fucking rock for years so others didn't have to, I am pretty fucking sure I'll find meaning when I'm able to set it down.
The fuck ... I can find meaning in all kinds of places.
Only the trashing of Western Civilization, the Enlightenment, "white culture" - fuck it, any and all things "white" - traditional education, science, modernity, accumulation of knowledge, ethics, fairness, equality of opportunity, the eschewing of responsibility and achievement as a measure for reward, i.e., Meritocracy.
It's a hell of a lot more than "something" CC, it's every fucking thing and I salute him for it.
Apparently that often happens at the expense of what's staring him right in the face.
Maybe this is one of those times.
Men are expected to do their own work around here, boy.
Take care of your own shit, be a net positive in your small circle, and by doing so that filters out and slowly creates a better world.
Somehow whining about every issue that you don’t agree with in politics isn’t part of that message.
