I have to admit that I am amazed, I'm going to have to eat my hat when I find it... stunned, shocked, fkn amazed just begins to cover it. I think this will turn out to be one of the biggest busts in history as far as slotting but hey, what a sales job this kid did, good on for him!
He has a point [I'm breathlessly stating the obvious], good players in the wings with potential draft capital upside... just hope that he comes back to play for a season or 2, really stings losing Latu and Tryon without really getting any extended play, will be a shame for the team if that happens with ZTF as well.

He wasn’t good until the Oregon game yet he still created a pressure on every 7.5 snaps. The 3rd most in this edge class. Please stop. Not everyone is Chase Young. He’s a high ceiling freaky athlete that can drop into coverage, rush the passer, and set an edge and has good college production. It’s not really that surprising.

You're amazed that a 6-5 260 pound freak was drafted at the end of the first round? Sounds dramatic.

Nobody cares about the 32nd pick. If he busts, it will be a tiny side note. He definitely won’t be considered a biggest bust in history.

"Joe wrote several times this offseason that Tryon-Shoyinka would be given plenty of rope in 2024 to see if he could break out in his contract year.
Maybe the Bucs would give him five or six games before handing his job to someone that doesn’t have 2,000 snaps under his belt, Joe said.
That hasn’t happened.
Durable Tryon-Shoyinka continues to start and to disappoint. He’s got one sack as an edge rusher and just two quarterback hits through seven games. His 14 combined tackles is a sad number. The Bucs get more production this season from his backup, Anthony Nelson.
Joe thinks it might be time to replace JTS in the starting lineup. Rookie Chris Braswell has seven games of experience and there’s Nelson, who has been more productive.
Joe wonders what preseason standout edge rusher José Ramirez thinks about all this. Poor guy can’t get a sniff as he’s benched behind very shaky edge rushers."
He's not wrong but fuck whoeve that Ty Willingham wannabe ass third person and his miserable schtick.
@dnc Yah, exactly, he’s been decent ~ not one of the biggest busts in history, [i specialize in dramatic overstatements] i was just curious about what his progress has been and thought it might be of interest to others.
Probably the more accurate description of his status is stated in some of the comments below the article ~ the key point being made seems by a number of posters that to be the scheme which features him being dropped into coverage as opposed to closing down the edge or getting the sack
Totally fair. I think they'd obviously pick somebody different if they had it to do over again. But yes the scheme has not played into his strengths either.

bump… just an update on how this worked out… better than I thought originally, but he clearly is a tweener at the position…

He's been bad.
He hasn't been close to one of the biggest busts in history.

If Pete were still around this is the sorta guy he’d pickup for the Hawks.
