Wait, what?

https://www.yahoo.com/news/people-infected-coronavirus-variant-found-012418512.html

After controlling for variables including a patient's age, sex, ethnicity, and living arrangement, the researchers found that with the original virus, about six out of every 1,000 people in their 60s who test positive might be expected to die. But this number rises to about nine out of 1,000 with B.1.1.7.

Fatality rate for 60-69 years old is .6% with original strain according to this article. I remember the days they said 3% than 2 than 1 and than .6% as a whole for awhile.

Now its .6% for 60-69 year olds.

In the summer it was around 1.5% for 60-69.

So the UK strain is 40% less deadly than the original strain was over the summer.

Lololol.
