    And yes, I am gently reminding people to get skilled at selling short as a concept that they can employ to earn positive rates of return during periods of market distress. This is not complex in the sense that selling short is no different than buying long, you are simply doing it in reverse order. In other words, the idea is that at one point you are buying at a price which is less than what you are paying for it to make a profit and the order that you do it in is not important ~ At least from a profitability standpoint.

    If the idea seems complex, then simply buy an inverse ETF... they are set up to mimic the index that you choose and will go up in value as the index they track goes down... simple. In that manner, you are buying first and selling later in the usual tradition.

    The timing of my retirement ... call it 6 or 7 years from now, is such that I am becoming convinced that my 'side-hustle' is going to be more of a necessity than a hobby. Just anything but practicing law ... please Lord, inspire me to find something else to do with my tim. For Christ's sake. It is a soul-crushing existence.
