Dude can play. Got a bad shake in SF.

He fucked himself in SF. Put in nowhere near the work needed. Maybe being cut was the wakeup call he needed.
Not sure he responded well to tough love at SF, but dude can play at that level

Shanahan has always been a dbag
Yeah, I've been on 9er boreds about this and it's not as much that he was lazy as Shanahan just fucking hated everything about him.
Ive been on other hobby boreds that say otherwise... lazy, didnt learn play book, didnt show up to weights, late to meetings...

meh... I liked pettis and his weird running style and faggy cat paw celebrations... I hope he does better in NY either way.
I believe those things much more than the social media being the problem.

He's a weird dude. He obviously rubbed Shanahan the wrong way. He makes plays though.

Thats peach bowl first quarter legend dante pettis to you

You know, the guy who burned bamas nfl DB only to never get another long pass thrown his way the rest of the game

You never bring up the times Browning was good

Yep, he’s soft but he plays WR and is more than skilled enough to be a #3 or #4. You don’t have 100+ yard games as a rookie if you don’t have ability.

It was never talked about but he was the offensive player other than Browning that just didn’t step up against the good teams. As a punt returner, the return against Utah in 2016 was so fucking clutch, but he never had a great game as a WR against a really good team.

I didn’t think he was great as a senior. He’s a skill guy that if you focus on can be shut down but he’s sneakily good if he’s just an option because he does have a unique game.

Agree. It's also noteworthy that he hasn't been a return man yet in the NFL. There was axtually valid criticism of him as a punt returner going into the draft. In the simplest terms he was nearly an all or nothing returner and didn't try to make tough plays, like getting to and returning balls that were kicked away from him but still reachable, or returning punts that were set up for a tough 8-10 yards and a cloud of dust. He was explosive at times but a bit soft. That pretty much sums him up as a receiver too.
