Governors and foreign heads everywhere gained themselves a nice covid bump. So did Trump himself for about three weeks in March. The "wartime president effect" is very real. Real virus vs overblown threat, doesn't matter. Good politicians take advantage of that shit.
Then he shit his pants over and over again and tried to blame everyone and anyone for shitting on his pants. He was a fucking disaster every time he spoke , and the media whooped his ass for it. He was Teflon until the day he wasn't. He's a fucking loser and it's about time the GOP tosses him aside for a populist with some actual competence.
This is pretty much spot on. COVID was pretty much a no win situation, but when you make a call own it. President Trump didn't. Not just a loser, but a pussy on top of it.
That’s almost a Dazzler take. Ignoring calls of racism he banned travel from infected regions...ignoring everyone telling him it wasn’t possible he set up the conditions to get a vaccine developed in half the time everyone said was possible. He had diarrhea of the mouth, but he didn’t force NY, Penn, and NJ to shove infected patients in old folks homes which resulted in 10,000 of thousands dead.
And the US is doing a hell of a lot better than countries that shut everything down so defining not making a call as that is just FS.
The argument that it was COVID that did Trump in ... it's kinda BS but also true. Trump's press conferences opened him up a bit. I'm not sure what people were expecting from him in an execution standpoint. The decision to fast track and eliminate bureaucratic red tape with the vaccine will be looked back upon as probably his best move as a President.
Trump's crass, off-putting to many, and his style is a huge issue. That said, I've had more than a few Democratic friends tell me that if they were judging Trump off of what he did it's hard to complain about a lot of policy over the last 4 years ...
In other words, Trump controlled all the things that ultimately hurt him.
The Republican Party would be well served to do the following:
1) Understand the elements of Donald Trump that resonate with half of the population and continue to make inroads on those items
2) Understand what about Donald Trump didn't resonate and and make sure that you prioritize decency and decorum going forward out of your candidates
3) Continue making inroads within populations within the electorate that they've historically struggled with but under Trump have found ways to connect with better
This election wasn't a validation of Joe Biden and the Democrat platform ... it was a dismissal of Donald Trump ... the pickup of seats in the House and maintaining (likely) control of the Senate by the Republicans tell you as much.
Trump got 10 million more votes than last time, got a higher % of minority voters than any Republican in the last 60 years, got significant support in such divergent communities as the Jewish and Muslim communities, and its his fault that some low testosterone beta male Karens have their panties in a wad because they are dumb enough to be manipulated by the media?
Trump was, for 4 years, accused of being a racist, traitor, Russian asset, and literally Hitler by wide swaths of the Left and media (I know...the same...) and he’s the one that was too mean? Does anyone actually saying/thinking this have any self-respect?
The media radicalized the Left to the point it convinced enough of them it was ok to steal an election and destroy the foundation of the country and its his fault...

Trump was destined to lose when they discovered the cheats. Lou Dobbs!
Seems some in the communist party knew.
