2013 story on Maurice Clarett and The Senator Jim Tressel converging on tOSU, winning the natty, and eventually both losing it all. Clarett was something else. Watching it last night his famous steal of the ball from a D back was from none other than Sean Taylor. Turned the game. One of many mistakes the Canes made which was the only way they were going to lose and they did. And it was PI on 4th down creep.

Anyway it was a sad tale of Andy Geiger the AD ruining the life of Clarett who then proceeded to finish the job and end up in prison. When he got suspended from tOSU after his freshman year he sued the NFL to be allowed to play. Again watching last night it occurred to me that challenging the whole concept of the three year rule was a mistake. The whole world of sports lined up against it. Why not a special exemption case since the NCAA was done with Clarett. Argue for a special circumstance making it clear the NFL could still set the rules as they do to this day.

Then of course Tressel got bounced for Tattogate and lying to the school to protect the players the way he did not protect Clarett. One year of Fickel and hello Urban.

Tressel and Clarett now work together in Youngstown humbled and helping the kids. Worth watching

The other thing is Ohio State is the ultimate football factory and the fans are fucking nuts. The Pac has nothing that compares. Geiger trying to uphold the veneer of tOSU as an academic institution was ludicrous. Be who you are
