Agree he isn't an idiot. I think he is projecting his views on his fellow students and profs thoughdnc said:
OTOH he was easily the expert at 2010s rap and had plenty of info on Truckbed Gate.salemcoog said:
With all due respect, something is rotten in Denmark with your claim as being a CURRENT student. You’ve been around since early 2017 and you absolutely crushed the Marshalls pickem a couple years ago. 19 year olds don’t do that.jhfstyle24 said:Ok, as a CURRENT student, I would like to weigh in and say that it was made pretty clear that communism has never worked and will never work.
The teachers didn't explicitly say that, but they didn't need to - all sources assigned to us in class, even our materials on/about the manifesto, made clear the failures of totalitarian government.
Fact of the matter is, NO MATTER THE SYSTEM, absolute power corrupts. Communism could be the most effective system the world has ever seen and it still wouldn't work for that exact reason.
And, communism is not the most effective system the world has ever seen, and is in reality far from it based on what we have seen in its application.
You can debate the merits of communism all you want (there really aren't any), and it still doesn't change the fact that it will never work.
And this is what was taught in a very liberal school. You can imagine how it is in most schools across America. I don't think this is a big concern.
@ClaraSorrentiDawg can EMFA.
You also would be the only active current poster who is a current student. Your prose, while not being technically gifted is well beyond a 21 y/o.
Unless you are an older grad student, I call bullshit.
I’ve never found his claims about his age to be suspect. He just doesn’t happen to be an idiot like some.
It is possible to survive and remain a staunch anti communist after indoctrination. -

I had a pair of high school teachers that somehow managed a summer vacation to Moscow in the mid 70's. Made us look at their slide show. It was U.S. government class and we never studied the US government for a second. All communism and socialism all the tim. They were BIG fans. Fuck them.UW_Doog_Bot said:I had socialist profs at UW.
None of them were in the Econ department.

I am quite literally below 19 years of age, I assure you. So, thank you, but I can in fact confirm that I am a current student. I can send you a picture of my student ID if you really need it.salemcoog said:

Indeed, your lack of education about US government is on display here daily.Sledog said:

Yet you’re all-in on the China Way of manufacturing, Mr. GOP. Are you related to the Amash family from Michigan?GDS said:
Spent a quarter studying Kropotkin and Stirner but the prof certainly wasn’t advocating for anarchy...HHusky said:
Embarrassing is thinking that reading or assigning students some Marx is indicative of a student or teacher's politics. Sorry to break this to you, but Darwin, Marx and Freud are subjects of study in modern history, economics, even business. (Except maybe at Evergreen in the mid-70s.)RaceBannon said:Imagine having to lie about this
Embarrassing
In Econ classes it was constantly brought up how planned economies always fail.
