Years of work on the trail paying off for Cristobal and Oregon

“Mario Cristobal and the Oregon staff are big-game hunting on the recruiting trail and Friday morning they landed one of their most coveted prospects on the board this 2021 cycle in Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro Top247 offensive tackle Bram Walden.
Walden has been one of the top guys Cristobal, offensive line coach Alex Mirabal and company have courted for the past couple years. The efforts paid of during a Zoom call Friday when Walden told the Ducks staff he was coming, choosing to play for the defending Pac 12 champs over the likes of Stanford, USC, Washington and powerhouse programs heading towards the other coast.”
Offensive line is tracking to be the strength of the Ducks class, if not perhaps the best in the country when all said and done, as Walden who is tabbed as the No. 13 offensive tackle and No. 80 prospect overall in the Top247 joins the No. 5 center in the 247Sports Composite Jackson Light. Moving forward Oregon looks like the one to beat for another blue-chip offensive tackle in long-time target Kingsley Suamataia and the same goes for four-star offensive tackle Jonah Miller. Top247 offensive guard Bryce Foster and Jager Burton are two others with high interest in the Ducks.
“They prioritize in building offensive line,” Saguaro head coach Jason Mohns said. Walden is his second offensive lineman to choose to play his college football in Eugene following Jaylan Jeffers who put pen to paper this past cycle. “Their schemes are built around that. They’ve done an awesome job. Coach Mirabal has been Coach Cristobal’s right-hand man. Does a great job building relationships with kids and people close to the kids. They’re authentic and they’re hard-workers. They put a lot of effort in doing letting things to connect with kids. They’re just putting in a ton of effort to build connections and relationships. It’s a relationship business and kids are looking for that personal connection and looking for people that believe in them and put the time and they’ve done a heck of a job.
