Predicting Inslee is angling for an income tax is like predicting that the sun will come up tomorrow.

Could happen sooner, but July/August will be the breaking point when PPP forgiveness rules have passed and an even bigger wave of people get laid off and no government workers have been laid off.

the end of May is the longest this is gonna last.
What is going to last? We kicking off with full fans on Labor Day weekend? You seem to be lacking some fundamental understanding on what is going on.

My northwest.com speculates Inslee,s angling for an Income tax

That would require a change in the State constitution and a vote of the people.

The same people who elected Inslee? Oregon has killed a sales tax forever. Last year, the super majority of dems in the Oregon legislature installed a mini sales tax at half a percent. That will be the major push in future years to raise taxes that were lost as a result of the dem imposed shut down.

Even Washington libs aren't stupid enough to believe the income tax will replace the sales tax. Like H they just talk about paying more

It would be like most other states. An income tax and a sales tax. Seattle imposed a capital gains tax. Shot down under the Washington Constitution. But that can be changed. States were screaming for additional tax dollars with the hot economy we had. They killed it. With collapsing tax revenue they will be like a junkie coming down from a decades long bender. They will kill for the fix.
