Why is it no longer due?
The CARES Act UI benefit alone ($600 per week) is the equivalent $15 an hour on a 40 hr week. Add in a normal UI benefit, many low wage workers - a majority I suspect - are getting more income than pre Vid caused loss of employment.

Toss in that social security and medicare take out 7.65% of that paycheck and none of it for unemployment.

We abolished a ton of crime and bug infested public housing under Clinton, because everyone realized what a terrible idea it was way back then.
