Here is what Trump said on March 4:
“Well, I think the 3.4 percent is really a false number. Now, and this is just my hunch, and — but based on a lot of conversations with a lot of people that do this. Because a lot people will have this and it’s very mild. They’ll get better very rapidly. They don’t even see a doctor. They don’t even call a doctor.”
He went on to say:
“I think that that number (the WHO number) is very high. I think the number, personally, I would say the number is way under 1 percent.”
Democrats and media pundits blasted Trump for spreading “misinformation.”
Aptos house husbands were also irate as I recall
Smart people like Don and me had a good grip on the science early on -
Trump never said "Lysol." Pelosi did, though.
And look what the media ran with. 'nuff said. -
Trump was right on the chicom crud and was right on the threat of the chicoms to the US. Toss in his being right on the fraud of global warming. Let alone the Russia Russia hoax. Contrast with the MSM and the leftards and RINOs. The supposed smartest people in the room. And yet, they all want Slo Joe to run this country. Being so intellectually incurious that they never wonder why they are always wrong on the big issues. But Trump "said" Lysol is supposedly a deal breaker.

3.4 ser pent is straight fear mongering. It's under half a percent. It might be .2 percent or less.

What is also clear is that for those under 65 with no underlying medical conditions the death rate is basically zero. It's not like our kids are dying like flies and infants are taking their last breaths while their mom's are waiting in lines for a ventilator for the baby. That's what is maddening is that early on outside of maybe the NYC petri dish, that the decision should have been made to isolate the vulnerable and keep the economy open.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:3.4 percent is straight fear mongering. Oh yeah, I saw a news story were a healthy young person got it and died. So you’re very very wrong. This is a equal opportunity killing machine and as Mario Cuomo said, getting it equals death.WestlinnDuck said:

Yep. It hates hispanics who tend to live together with more people per household, including abuelos and abeulas, than white people. And don't get me started on how much the chicom crud hates people who use the NYC subway.

I don't think it's there yet. But if we get a legit treatmentt and do a better job protecting care centers it'll probably be around .2Fire_Marshall_Bill said:3.4 ser pent is straight fear mongering. It's under half a percent. It might be .2 percent or less.

Fucking Trump. Can't do anything right. -
The goal of the shut down has been been met.
If the goal posts have been moved to waiting for a vaccine for a virus that has a .2 - .6% death rate (overwhelming elderly who have health issues), we will do this until a great depression kills millions worldwide. This is not a reasonable option and will destroy lives, communities, and our country long term.
We are never going to wait out the virus. That is not a possibility. We can only manage the rate it spreads, and do everything we can to protect the most vulnerable. But we all know an economic collapse will kill far more than this virus.
We need to get back to living and be very diligent with nursing homes and other vulnerable people.
But this zero tolerance policy that has us in an indefinite economic shut down because "if it saves one life..." will lead to civil unrest when the economy completely collapses. -
We’ve shifted from trying to stop massive number of short term death to stopping all infections, an impossibility.

Americans are dumb but they aren't stupid.
This won't be a problem in 10 days. You're going to start seeing massive protests and people just going back to their normal life.
The responses by the E. WA sheriffs/counties was the tip of the iceberg. Spokane County will fold in about 10 to 12 days and join the rest (more wannabe progs in Spokane than, say, Moses Lake - playing the political game), then it's just a matter of time before Clark, Pierce and Snoho fall behind. King County will be out there alone looking like dumbfucks they normally are.

There is no science supporting keeping 80% or more of America in lockdown. It's called the thin blue line for a reason. When hard working Americans make the call to tell the fascists to phu*ck off, not a lot of cops are going to want to get involved, especially in rural America. Now a lot of cops are wannabe fascists, but a lot aren't. And they all live in the community and have to go home and have families. Even the pigs are not going to want to get way over the community skis on this.
