EQuook Groupthink

The Ducks stopped a power running Big 12 team with a bad QB almost 15 years ago (Fiesta Bowl v Colorado)....so they'll do fine at stopping the run in the Alamo.

eDuck looks a lot like Dawgman in regards to the Tosh deal. They keep saying Tosh is different because no coaches were involved at UO.

I really don'y know this - what did Chip get the show cause for if no coaches were involved at UO?

Here is a truth: There are zillions of fucking high school kids that "pass the look test" to play college football.

There is a 6'2" 195lb black WR on every roster of every metro school in America. Obviously, some have a lot more than one, but they all have at least one. How does a guy that works 16 hours a day figure out which one is the best for him? The first step is grades. Because most black kids in metro areas come from shit home lives you can scratch off 60% from the top right there. Perfect, now you still have 125,000 to pick from.

You can't use stats. A kid playing in a wishbone might be ten times the player of one in an Air Raid. The Wishbone kid will have 15 catches and the Air Raid kid will have 45. So, no luck there. You can kind of use combine camp numbers. A lot of kids have never actually been taught how to run. The difference in any kid between a 4.8 and a 4.5 is technique for the most part. Ichiro isn't all that fast, but that fucker has his movement efficiency down to a science on the way to first base. It's the same thing with finite sprint training.

Most high school head coaches pull in around $40k. They're already working a fuck ton of overtime with their own program. How much time do you think they want to spend talking to other coaches? Not much.

Here is some absolute advice for parents that have a kid they want to be recruited. Basketball has AAU, Baseball has Summer Legion, Soccer has Club, and football has winning high school programs. College football coaches use top flight high school football programs like college basketball coaches use the AAU.

You know the 6'2" 195lb black WR that's starting for a program on their way to a fourth consecutive state title has good coaching, a good S&C program, standards that aren't negotiable, and knows how to win. WTF does the 6'2" 195lb black WR on a team that wins 3 or 4 games a year know? He's probably got shit coaches, doesn't train correctly, and can fuck off all the time without anyone caring. If you think your kid is legit, get him into a legit program.

Here is where things get shady: handlers. For the kids that don't get the instant access from being in a top flight program there are people that will get your kid recruited. They aren't free and they really have no rules. They'll schedule and take your kids to combines, camps, passing leagues, etc. They make high light videos and send them out all over. They make relationships with college coaches and college coaches love them. A head coach of an elite high school program doesn't give a fuck who you are, he's a winner. You better suck his cock before you sit down. If he doesn't like you, then you're not getting any of his players. College coaches hate to kiss a high school coach's ass because they think they are better than them.

With handlers, they are the ones doing the fluffing because colleges and recruit's parents pay them. Much like how the NCAA has completely turned a blind eye to the AAU because it grew beyond them without them noticing they are doing everything they can right now to get a handle on recruiting handlers.

There is a reason why you always hear the same high schools when it comes to recruiting. Coaches know what they are getting down to the point of raw talent. The kid Antelope Valley High might grow to be three times of the player of the same version from Oaks Christian, but the Oaks Christian kid isn't going to "Smoke it All" so to speak. Every college roster needs a mix of both for depth and dominance.

My point being in this rant; your favorite BCS program will be filled with "gimme" recruits from elite high school programs, and stand outs from shit programs that were presented to them by a handler. That handler isn't working for free. Tosh is a fucking retard because he just handed over a paper bag full of cash. Chip Kelly is a genius because he paid using program funds. It doesn't matter what Willy Lyles usually charges, because recruiting isn't anything real as far as tangible, and you don't have to justify what you paid for and why you paid for it. Handing someone fucking cash is just retarded, Cheswick family style.

Tosh isn't doing anything that isn't done daily, he's just the low hanging fruit that gets picked by the NCAA. Bama, Cal, Tennessee, Baylor, and countless others used Willy Lyles. Oregon got picked on because they're in Eugene and aren't supposed to be dominating anyone. It was too suspicious not to look into. I've seen this shit first hand and I've even been in on it before. NOTHING Tosh is doing is a big deal other than the stupidity of his methods.
