Testing

Just did the whole ancestry.com thing. It took 8 WEEKS to process some spit. Two months. And that's in a business that has been functioning for years - not some new concept that has never been implemented before in the history of this country. (I'm mostly black by the way).

How the fuck are tests going to be processed in a reasonable amount of time where a person is still considered contagious? In 8 weeks, someone is going to be sick, dead or healed.

Makes no sense. Not possible. For a government agency.....not even reasonable to think they'll be able to execute. Don't care whether it's mean orange man, George Washington or FDR as POTUS - not gonna happen.

The whole idea of testing is a funny one. Take the test one day and you don't have it. You might get it tomorrow.

Is everyone going to take it at the same time? Because if not, it will still spread essentially at the same rate.

I realize it might tell some that they have it when they have no symptoms but I think people are really overestimating the kits and exactly what they will do. You can thank the rats and their media for that.

Testing is a red herring. Its pretty damned dumb to waste time and money on something that could literally change in minutes -as you state, I may be COVID-19 negative one day and then, go about my day and become COVID-19 positive the next day....and still feel fit as a fiddle.

The only value in my mind of testing is to determine treatment- "Yup, you've got it, now here is the next step...drink this, take that, hunker down...whatever". It's like going in to a doctor with a sore throat. That could mean any of dozens of things - so they run tests and then treat accordingly based on the test. Strep - take X, throat cancer, take that.
