Exactly, the Seahawks obviously have changed the way they run the punt team. They've adjusted; unlike the Huskies of the past 12 years, who have had no clue how to make adjustments to the kicking game.
For those of us in here old to remember Don James' teams, at least one win a year could have been credited to Special Teams' play. We lose one or two games a year now because of shitty Special Teams, and nobody seems to care. With average Special Teams, we beat Stanford this year. Beat Stanford, and everything might have been different.
Having gunners like Maxwell and Lane, combined with down-under kicking style is the main reason. That, and Ryan doesn't try to bomb his kicks anymore, are the main reasons for the high fair-catch percentage and low return yardage.
