It then occurred to me. Chris Petersen never did with Washington what he did at Boise State. He never in his tenure reached those heights at Montlake.

I didn’t realize Boise made it to a playoff

I lean #TeamPGOS on this one. But a couple of those BSU were legitimately really good, the 2006 team and 2011 & 2012 teams.

Kellen Moore wouldn't have had anywhere to throw on that defense. If Mathis, Victor, and Browning are healthy that UW team could have beaten anyone that year.

Any Petersen UW team that includes MMFG on offense and Vita on defense is beating his Boise teams. His Boise teams still accomplished more relative to their talent.

2010 and 2011 would have been tough games. Boise has a lot of early draft picks and Kellen Moore on the those teams.

I used to make the argument that if Pete could have a UW team that good, with a handful of 4 and 5 star guys, we could win a natty.

Beavers was fucking great in that game. Correct on Mathis.

What the Huskies really would have needed to win that game was somebody other than a 270 pound true freshman at center and maybe one more all-American caliber offensive lineman. If the OL were legit good across the board, that's maybe a game.

Their OL has no shot. Clemson’s wasn’t much better but they had a Watson at QB. The Alabama front 7 was loaded. Clemson had a ton of jump balls they came down with.

That's a lot of ifs and maybes.

Haie got it. My point, that is.

It's one thing to own a bunch of shit teams all season by having a better system and more OKGs, and then sneak up on someone and beat them with trickeration. It's quite another to line up and win a dick measuring contest. Peterman was good at the former, pretty bad at the latter.
