Steve Gaines was on his way to being a full fledged Rock Icon

Not really. They had 2 greats albums and then some mediocre ones. Gaines only played on Street Survivors.

Happened not far in SW MS.

Ronnie Van Zant’s loss in that deal was more than devastating to the Skynard faithful. Was His decision tho to fly in a questionable air ride and he and few others paid the price.
